Here is Oz we've sprung into Spring (and the weather is just gorgeous!). The Northern Hemisphere has fallen into Fall and that's important because it means it's no longer summer and thus the
spn_summergen reveals have been posted!
There were so many brilliant entries this year. If you haven't checked them all out yet, do yourself a favour and head over to the comm! I had the good fortune to receive an amazing, inspiring set of prompts from
sophiap which really set the muse off and racing! Thank you for such wonderful prompts! And thanks also to
cassiopeia7 and
frozen_delight both of whom recc'd the story! Deb, your rec made my day...staying quiet and anonymous was hard! :D
So anyway, here is my entry:

Warnings: Dean-centric, immortal!MoC!Dean, swearing, violence, attempted assault, hurt!Dean, natural disasters, post-apocalyptic world, suicidal thoughts, major character deaths (with a happy ending!)

Prompt: Such a great set of prompts that I really had trouble picking just one. So…I’ve done a sort of hybrid mash-up of a few of them and done some thinking outside the box! I hope it works for you,
sophiap.
Prompt 4: I would LOVE a Sam and/or Dean piece based on James McMurtry's "Too Long in the Wasteland."
Link to Song
With a little bit of:
Prompt 5: Decades or even centuries after they're gone, how are the Winchesters remembered?
And a wee bit of this one too:
Prompt 1:The boys get caught up in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster. There's no hunting things involved, but there's sure a lot of saving people. Or needing to be saved themselves?
Summary: The year is 2015 and Sam and Dean’s battle with the Mark of Cain is suddenly overshadowed by a series of catastrophic natural disasters that devastate the planet and irrevocably change life as we know it.
The year is… actually, Dean is damned if he knows. He stopped keeping track of shit like that after Sammy died. He’s just trying to make it through eternity one step at a time, only ever venturing out of the Wasteland to trade, and to listen to the stories people tell themselves about Before.

Fic: Snow Day (10.17 episode coda)
Apr. 5th, 2015 12:41 amI really enjoyed 10.17.There was Dean hustling pool in a dive bar and well-integrated storylines and did I mention the pool hustling? This episode was definitely up there with the best of this season. :)

Fic: Combat survival (episode 10.15 coda)
Mar. 23rd, 2015 12:11 pmI've only watched this episode once so far. There were some things about it that didn't quite gel: The sloppy assumptions about the parasite. Cole's overuse of nicknames. The lost opportunities - for Dean to address the fact that Cole tortured Sam, for Sam to bond with Kit's wife, to talk about his feelings, for Dean to take his shirt off.
The ep did make me think a lot about Sam and Dean as soldiers in a never-ending war and the impact that must've had on them.
