Snowflake Challenge Days 1 and 2...
Day 1 - Snowflake Challenge
In your own space, talk about why you're participating in Snowflake and, if you’ve participated in the past, how the challenge has affected you. What drew you to it? What did you take away from it? What do you hope to accomplish this year? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I've never participated in this challenge before and I'm doing so now because I thought it might be a bit of fun and get me a bit more active than I have been this last year!
Day 2 - Snowflake Challenge
In your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, crazy times with fellow fans (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Well this is a hard one! I'm predominantly involved in the Supernatural fandom and it's a fandom that produces an amazing amount of quality fanwork. I have read many stories that just blew me away with their brilliance and viewed many pieces of art that did likewise.
I've had some hilariously funny conversations with people online and some really serious ones too. There are people on line who I definitely consider friends; we've shared real life triumphs and tragedies and given each other support and that makes a person a friend in my book! And I've been lucky enough to visit with some of those friends in the past -- and yes, everyone turned out to be just as amazing in real life! I'm certainly hoping to meet with more of you in the future!
I've also received some fabulous comments on my stories that truly made my day and I've left some on the works of others that I know made theirs too (because they told me so in their reply!)
I know that's all really vague and non-specific, but honestly, there has just been so much great stuff that it'd take too long to give details of it all!
